About
Moss Croft.

Our Story

A Guernsey-based studio working at the top end of the residential market.

The thinking behind Moss Croft is straightforward: exceptional homes aren't defined by what was spent on them, but by how completely they were thought through. How a space is planned, how it's finished, and what it feels like to live in — these aren't separate things. They're one continuous idea.

We keep our client list small. Not as a marketing position — it's just the only way to stay genuinely involved. Every project we take on gets our full attention, from the first conversation to the day the house is handed over.

We work across substantial renovations, interior commissions, and full development projects. The standard is the same across all of them.

What We Believe

The principles we bring to every project.

—

Space first.

Proportion, light, flow — the spatial thinking has to be resolved before any interior decisions are made. A beautiful room in a badly planned house is still a badly planned house.

—

The whole, not the parts.

A house full of impressive individual rooms isn't a great house. Everything needs to work together — the transitions between spaces, the way rooms relate to each other, the consistency of thinking throughout.

—

Built to last.

We're not chasing what's current. The materials and proportions and ideas we work with should look right in twenty years — better, ideally. Trend-led design ages badly and costs just as much.

—

Warm, not cold.

Restraint isn't the same as coldness. The houses we're proudest of are calm and edited — but also warm, tactile, and good to be in. That balance is harder to get right than either extreme.

The Detail

Why the details matter as much as the big decisions.

In every great house there's a moment when you stop registering individual things and simply feel that everything is right. That's not luck — it's the product of hundreds of small decisions, each one made in relation to the others.

The thickness of a skirting board. The reveal on a doorframe. The relationship between a light fitting and the ceiling it hangs from. These feel like minor things until they're wrong — and then they're all you see. Getting them right is what separates a house that photographs well from one that's actually wonderful to be in.

We care about both.
